Impounded Vehicles
Use the information below to learn how to pick up impounded vehicles from our compound.
Vehicle Release Requirements
Identification
1. In order to have a vehicle released from the compound, you must provide ONE piece of photo identification or TWO pieces of non-photo identification.
2. You must also provide proof of ownership and registration for the vehicle being released. If you are not the registered owner, you must provide both a letter from the registered owner, AND a copy of the registered owners photo identification.
Documents for Release
If the vehicle has been impounded by a police agency, the following is required:
a. A release form from the RCMP agency who impounded your vehicle
b. An Order of a Justice issued by the Court
c. An Order to Release Motor Vehicle issued by Vehicle Impoundment
All documents will be required to be provided before removing your vehicle from the compound.
**Please note that we will not allow anyone to drive a vehicle out of the compound without a valid driver’s licence OR valid registration.
Payment
Full payment for any towing, storage or other related fees must be provided before a vehicle will be released from the compound. Payment can be made by Debit or Cash.
Article Releases
Any removal of personal items from a vehicle in the compound will be required to sign an Article Release form, you will also be required to provide all documents listed under the section labeled identification.
Hours of Vehicle and Article Releases
Vehicle and Article releases are available between the hours of 8AM to 5PM.
*Exceptions may apply in the event of emergency cases, these exceptions will be made on a case by case basis only.
Compound Rules
Please be cautious of moving vehicles and equipment in yard when entering.
NO smoking is permitted within the compound.
A staff member will escort you to your vehicle.
A safety vest must be worn by all visitors to the compound.
A maximum of TWO visitors will be permitted into the compound.
No photography is permitted within the compound.
Rude, discourteous or abusive behaviour will not be permitted.
Close toed shoes are required for access into the compound.
We will not be held responsible for low tires, dead batteries, dirty vehicles, damages, etc.
Vehicles will NOT be released to persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
